Well Terri, The county of Angus has a lot of ancient 'pictish' heritage. The 'picts' were the earliest known people in Scotland.
So I suspect it may have something to do with them, they look like ancient bothys, wee shelters for living in. Or are they burial mounds, you know I'm not too sure, I'll have a good look around for you.
