I had tried emailing under that name & got it returned. I wont be trying again, but I hope all is well with him. No comments on the being "wrongfully" banned portion. It doesnt usually happen that cut/dry!

Hmm, "unknown reason" strikes me as probably untrue. As Bill said, they usually have a reason to ban, even if we don't all happen to agree with it. But I really am annoyed that SD was banned.

Yikes!  To be banned permanently must mean someone has done
something extremely offensive.  Thanks for answering my
question Bill.  And thanks to you and Jeanne (and to any
others responsible)  who do so much everyday to make this an
educational and friendly place for all.  It is a wonderful
place to share our experiences and I certainly have learned a great
deal from others as this disease affects us all in so many

I'm confused.
If you're banned using anon from a particular computer, are you then also banned from your logged in postings? How is that even possible? Is it just banning the computer? Either way, tell SeanD hello.

I miss SeanD too.  I miss his crazy off the wall humor and his
sincere willingness to share information that he has gathered thru
personal experience.  I didn't always agree with him but he is
unique and I admire that.   Anyone else miss SeanD?

Interesting... that's pretty cool you can actually ban an offensive anonymous poster (not saying that about SeanD, but just in general). So, this means that SeanD was posting as anon and not signed in and THAT is what got banned? Thanks for clearing all that up. I didn't even know you can do such a thing!

I miss SeanD but I can't say I miss GaryHairy Cheese or Love4Jesus (I think that was it). Curious that they're all gone at the same time isn't it?

Sean did bring a lot of good info to the board especially his posts about OO. Unfortunately, I think he also brought some negativity to the board.

I'm glad the ability to post as anon is gone. There were a lot of members hiding behind the anon mask when stirring up trouble. For those that are worried or embarassed about posting "sensitive" material, I think you can still create a second username to post "anonymously" under.

Mind you, as a disclaimer, I should say that I think rather highly of SD. I'm only saying "no better than he is" because it applies to the attitude that the person I was addressing holds.

I exchanged e mails with Sean not to long ago.

He said he was not banned he just wanted to step away
because the kind of work he was trying to get into.
if you google his name, this chat will come up,
he didn't think that was such a good thing for him
at this time.
