I won't point fingers as to who the "hairygarycheese" anonyn poster was, but, in agreement to what Jarod's point states, that statement made in regards to spamming is absolute grounds for banning.
As someone who is familiar with IT and security, the "Spamming Threat" can be seen as a danger, thus a premeasure must be taken to protect the security of this domain.
I noticed lately that the anonymous function had also "mysteriously" been de-activated after our "hairgary" freind put such a threat on the boards. Pure coincidence that SD also cannot be online, so it's easy to make such an elementary conclusion.

It's good to see you back here again, Fred. I missed you. Yes the threat of spamming the site and putting it down sure scared me. I still don't understand what sent him into frothing at the mouth like that. I miss his fractured sense of humor, but I don't miss the negativity that it sometimes caused.

All I know is that things have been calmer on the forum. Linked to Sean=Maybe....linked to the anonymouses=maybe.....both=maybe! Sean offered an alternative that many people tried & I am glad for that, but personally (and only my opinion...remember) I dont miss him or his interjections. There is plenty of other humour on here that seems to not offend as easily. He must be popular or at least the idea of him & the potential disturbance that can be connected is becaue this thread has been ovserved 476 as of my response!

In Sean's defense, I can honestly say that he did not spam the website, and if he did, then he obviously would have known why he was banned, now wouldn't he?

I say unknown reason because yes, he has posted as anon, but it wasn't anything overly offensive. I can admit, as a joke, as anon, I have posted both a movie with monkeys fornicating, and a new treatment related to um, a gun with semen in it lol. Ok i do have a sick sense of humour, but both times i was banned, only for about a week or so (And probably eternally after the mods see this). i don't think Sean did anything nearly as bad <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

So I dunno why Sean would have been banned permanately. You say his user account is not banned, but he cannot post. I don't know what's going on.

His yahoo user id is faust227, so maybe that is just the yahoo messanger id. You can download yahoo messanger, add faust227, and you should be able to talk to him.

There was a time when I really liked SD, and enjoyed his very humorous posts. But then he took it way too far on many occasions and clearly as the moderator said himself, there was an IP address that was banned that may have been SD's.

I also wholeheartedly disagree with the statement that SD did nothing to get himself banned. Are you kidding me? I realize some of you like him and it's hard to find faults in your friends, but he was so blatantly out of line, so blatanly rude, so blatantly inappropriate on more and more occasions everyday... Why some can see that and why others simply can't amazes me. That isn't to say he never brought anything valuable to the table. His information on OO was great and there were other occasions when he had some great info. to share and answered questions regarding it. But nobody should be able to treat others like he did on a daily basis and get away with it. And then posting as an anon to stirr up more trouble. GROW UP!!!!!!!!!

We all have slips and make mistakes in judgement, we are human and it happens. But when it becomes a daily occurence, as it did with SD, he deserves to be given a "time out" from this site.

I'm glad to hear that he is ok and the trouble that Austin stirred up isn't true. Just because some don't like the guy doesn't mean we don't care if he's alright. but I think he needs to seriously reexamine his purpose on this board if he wants to come back. Is it to give and get assistance and support, or is it for him to attack others all the time when his days aren't going so great? If it's the latter, maybe he should just stay away.

Jarod, whether you are right or wrong is not for me to decide, believe it or not. It was never proven that SD was that hairycheese fellow. I know a lot of people think he was. I don't have an opinion either way, because I never paid much attention to hairycheese, and therefore don't see a similarity or difference in their postings. But as we have no blatant proof (someone prove me wrong, if I am), I'm not going to shut my brain off to the possibility that it was, or was not, SD.

As for mistakes in judgment, perhaps SD did make quite a few. But if we all got banned based on one or two mistakes, a good chunk of us would be gone. Julie, you certainly. Probably Allie. Maybe Debbie, probably Amy, probably Michelle (Emichelly!), I know myself. Spamming the board is indeed uncalled for, and if it was him that was doing it, then he quite got what he asked for, really. There is no grey area in spamming the board. BUT the "rude" things he said, aren't really black and white. A lot of us didn't find them rude or uncalled for. So if you're going based on that, then I'd say you people need to reconsider. There are a LOT of things that could be perceived any given way, depending on the reader.
