Can you just leave it up to him to sort out (weight the pros and cons) after talking with the docs?

Frankly my late husband never wore a seatbelt even after the law mandated wearing one. He figured he'd rather be dead than busted up into a million pieces (he had low bone density in spades).

Thanks for the responses. Right now he is just wearing the lap portion because his port is accessed.
