Should I get test for CF?

I'm 27 male. I have mild asthma, struggle to gain weight, rather skinny. My doctor put me on Creon because I've been having trouble digesting my food lately. I can't even lie down without a full stomach. It was only later when I found out that Creon is for treating cystic fibrosis. The lab test costs $570.

Creon is to help in the digestion of food as a result of some pancreas insufficiency (not producing enough enzymes). There are several causes for this situation, CF being only one of those. Other than being "rather skinny" you haven't presented any CF symptoms.

If you feel that it would be worth while, go to an Approved CF Clinic and see a CF Specialist, for a second opinion. Only then could further testing be indicated.
