Sick with a virus

Staying home is not an option for me since I work full time outside the home and the onslaught of germs I am being exposed to has exploded exponentially since having a child and putting her in daycare. I have gotten a number of cold and flus this year that normally would have snowballed but I ahve found that instead of taking time off from working out when I get sick I work out through it instead of taking time off because I dont feel well. I do what I can each day unless I am really really not up to it and then right when I start to feel a bit better I do a few days of intense cardio to work out whatever may have settled in.

For me the working out works well in conjunction with my other previous efforts of being a germophobe and applying the practices mentioned by others, in addition I take 1000mg vitamin C twice daily all the time and up that to at least 4x a day when I feel ill I also am religious about my treatments and increasing my efforts if I feel something is 'setting in'.

In addition I dont wait until I am in an exacerbated state to take time off work I have my FMLA set up as intermittent and it lasts for a 6 month period of time so that if I feel tired and run down or am sick and feeling like I'm loosing ground, or if my peak flow take a nosedive into the red I take a day right away to stay home, rest adn do 4x daily treatments. I have found being pro-active works wonders for me instead of deny deny deny--ok I'm REALLY sick and have to admit it--this is the hardest part for me as it is very hard for me to stay home and it was hard for my husband to understand it at first to since I 'looked fine' etc.

I've had good luck with Wellness Formula (immune boosting daily suppliment) and twice daily probiotics.

The only answer I found to this question was getting a lung transplant. I remember the first virus I had post-transplant. I was preparing myself to go in the hospital, and it just went away on it's own. I was so shocked!
