Reece has been off IVs for about 2 days now. I noticed that he started walking funny about a week ago. Its like his shoes are too small OR hes not bending his ankles..... his doc looked at his legs and did some neuro tests....thinking it could be a balance thing due to the IVs.....this is what he was taking.....Tobra...Timenitn...and Zyvox......Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen and when did it go away.

Can't answer your question sorry because my daughter hasn't been on IVs, but just to say I really like your signature.

The quinolines (like Levaquin) can cause problems with the Achilles tendon.
Is Timentim one of those?
Just guessing here.

I've been on all of those meds at one point or another and I dont recall having any problems walking or joint pain. However it doesnt mean it cant happen. I always stumped my doctor with weird side effects that are not known side effects of medicines. For example, when I take prednizone, my skin is sore, like I am bruised from head to toe. Hurts to touch, do CPT, etc. My doctors told me I was alway to exception to the rules, I was weird. I always had mysterious side effects. You can look up the meds w/ possible side effects at www.drugdigest.com. Maybe it will help in giving you an idea of the side effects. I remember Timenitn smelled terrible!!! After two weeks my skin even smelled like it. I hated timenitn's smell, it stayed with you for weeks.

Zyvox can cause neuropathy. My kids had some tingling and funny sensation in their feet after a long course.
