I agree that no one should settle for substandard health care. I have extremely good insurance, but in order to have it I am required to work more hours than I think is good for my health. After a 40 hour work week I am exhausted. I don't want to work full time, I never have. I am so tired that I have no motivation to clean my house, even my treatments get neglected sometimes, so this is having a big impact on my health. I am all for socializing health care as long as it can be done in a way that we can all have QUALITY health care. I am just sitting here biding my time until my husband is out of the military and can get a much better paying job so that I can either cut back my hours a LOT or quit working all together and devote my time to taking care of myself and my home.

AnD-you rbing up some interesting points, ideas my DH and I have thrown around before are having some sort of centralized system that monitors the insurance offered by companies so as to ensure it meets certain criteria as far as what it covers and how much it costs. Having a government health plan you can purchase dependent on income for those working jobs that dont offer healthcare. Creating incentives i.e. taxes etc for employers offering health insurance and penalties for those that emply full time of age employees (i.e. no detaseling or 16 year old workers) full itme and over a certain # of people (so as not to harm small business) and do not offer health care coverage.
