Silly question

I started to post this in the "Over 40 Club" thread but thought it would possibly apply to adults of all ages.

Here was my original post--
OK, this is going to be coming out of left field, but as I was looking at pictures posted in the latest issue of CF Roundtable, I noticed that almost all of the CFers pictured wore glasses and that made me wonder if it's very common for adults with CF to have glasses??? Or is it just common for people 'in general' to need glasses past the age of 25???
I know, I need to get a job.....<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">

I'll start by stating that I do wear glasses and have had to since probably mid 20's.

I've worn glasses since I was about 17, but its for distance like driving or going to a movie theatre or something. Anything that's far away, I need glasses for. Not sure if its a CF thing.

I'm proud to say that the one piece of my body that works 100% are my eyes. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> I'm 20/20. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

The rest of my family all wear glasses or contacts, even my husband.

I'm sure if any of you were questioning my sanity before you really are now...

It seems there's no correlation.
This was just something I noticed and I'm sure it's because I wear glasses that I even noticed.

wishing for 20/20 here. I been wearing glasses (now contacts) since I was in 7th grade (that's around 13 yrs old, i think). I have also noticed a lot of CF people wear glasses. Looking in the roundtable, a few cfers I know. I've often wondered if it was related as well. I dont know if mine is CF related or not, wearing glasses runs in my family. Both parents wear them. If it was related to CF it could be caused by some of the medications, but I really dont know. Its just what I tell myself...hehe. I have thought about that Lasik surgery. But I'm afraid of getting and infection or being that small percent that gets worse or go blind.

Has anyone w/ CF had the vision correction surgery, Lasik? Any problems? What was your results?

I wear glasses, have since 14 or so.
But I think it's mostly genetic since about 95% of my family immediate and extended, wears glasses.
My prescription is a little worse than most, and I do attribute that to medications, etc. But figure I had it coming anyway.

Might think about lasik in later years, but contacts work fine for me right now.
