I started using Simply saline spray for my daughter. how often do you throw away the bottle? Every month, after a cold? Just wondering as I bought a huge bottle and I just threw it away after my daughter's last cold.
Being that it's an aerosol and not like regular nasal sprays or saline spray bottles, I'm not AS concerned as there isn't the tendency for backwash. I DO wipe the nozzle with rubbing alcohol before and after use, but DS doesn't use it as often as he used to. We used in mainly before he figured out how to do sinus rinses, now we mainly use it when he's got a dry nose from his nasonex.
I'd invest in a NeilMed flushing system. We use it for DD...the water is sterilized prior to use then you mix the water with a NeilMed packet. I don't know much about Simply Saline, but I think there is less concern for infection/contamination when using NeilMed....
