Check out the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation. Before I had insurance, they helped out with alot of meds and some other programs.

Hi Sue

I have been doing alot of thinking like you as well. I know I only have a few years left if that of working full time. I have decided that when the time comes to get SSI/SSDI and move back in with my mom. It was her idea and I hate it but I won't have a choice unless I get married. But I am not sure if that will happen by then. My mom doesn't make alot of money so I am going to work full time as long as possible to pay off all my bills so my disability will go towards food and meds for me. Sounds like a boat load of fun I know.

Have you thought about doing a different career? One where you are not around sick kids all year? That might help you out and keep you working longer if you wanted. Just a thought.

Sue:
I know a lot of states offer aid if you are bringing in a low income. I am from Ohio and have BCMH (Bureau for Children with Medical Handicaps) pick up nearly all of my expenses, including at-home iv therapy. It would be worthwhile to see what programs your state sponsors for you. BCMH is designed for children with medical needs, but for people with certain conditions like CF there is no age limit.
