Hey i haven't been on for a while.

I was just wondering if people with CF can go sking? i would like to go but not sure as the altitude would mean less oxygen right? it's hard enough now trying to breath though my lung fuction is 74% which is not too bad as it has been worse.

Any advice would be helpful

Thanks Hannah 16w/cf<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"></end quote></div>

Hi, yes you can ski or snowboard! I have been out to Colorado several times, and also Michigan & wisconsi too. Just dotn push yourself beyond what you know your limits are. Have fun!

I've been skiing since I was about 5. I know some CFers have trouble with cold, some with altitude. It does make me cough a bit sometimes, but it's completely worth it. Give it a shot, if it doesn't work, at least you tried. But skiing is pretty easy, you'll be fine :)

I used to go skiing and snowboarding all the time when I was younger (up in the Poconos in PA). The cold and altitude never seemed to bother me. When I went to Colorado back in 2001 the altitude got to me slightly but I still skiied! Just give it a shot and see how you feel! If you have a hard time breathing in the cold be sure to wear a scarf and wrap it around your face so you can breath in that <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">
