So tired of catching every cold...

Hi,

I'm just looking to vent a little. I'm on IV's, because I had a nasty cold that turned into an infection. Now, on day 11 of IV's, I feel like crap again. I was at conference for work, and I guess I picked up another cold there. So, this must be cold number 4 or 5 for me, and it's only November! Sometimes I feel like I must have the work immune system ever!

Mary... This is exactly what happened to me!!! I was on IV meds for a cold-turned-infection for about a week and then caught ANOTHER cold! That one hung on for another week or so and made it so I didn't see results with IVs, so now I'm on week 3 of abx., going on week 4. Its so frustrating! I wish we as CFers could just have a cold be a cold and deal with it and watch it "move on" like everyone else, but with us, there is always the "what if" it moves to our lungs and causes damage/infection.

Anyway, I hope you feel better soon. I'm on day 21 of abx and still coughing just as much and just as crappy. FRUSTRATING!!!! Hope you get better results than me. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-wink.gif" border="0">

I know exactly what you mean. I have been doing my best this year to stay away from people in public. I shop later at night (8 - 9 pm) when there are less people, i dont go to work if my boss or anyone else in the house is sick or even has the sniffles, i stopped going to church during flu season because i am very scared to be in a closed building with so many people. I decided no more parties because it seemed like after each of my last 3 parties i wound up sick ( in the hospital twice). Then again these 3 parties included children, which most of my parties do not. I generally do not go to parties anymore either. Small parties yes but big huge parties with a lot of people no way ( unless its outside).
Do you use hand sanitizer? I use it all the time. I keep a bottle in both of my cars and as soon as i am in the car i use it. I hope you can stay cold free for a while. It is frustrating when you seem to get one thing after the other.

Yes, I do use hand sanitizer, but probably not enough. I just finished attending a large conference (~5,000 attendees). I am pretty sure that is where I picked it up.
