SOCIAL SECURITY WONT GET INCREASE

I just saw in the newspaper that its official....

those of us on Social Security wont get a cost of living increase next year!

They said last year that we would get the 5.8% Jan 1 09
and because it was much higher than years before there would not
be a raise in 2010.That was under Bush. But Pres Obama can Change that
and increase COLA for 2010.

Was it hard to get on SSDI? I need to apply, but dont want to have to wait too long between checks from my employer and Social Security Disability. I know with the numbers of my PFTs and the amount of times i have had to take off work to be in the hospital or off on IV antibiotics that I should qualify.... just scared to take the plunge... Plus i have insurance here at work.... any suggestions?
