Sore throats

I seem to have a problem with sore throats. I wonder if this is a CF issue or what. Anyway, I am very proactive w. my sinus rinse care and take allergy meds. However, I often wake up with a sore throat! It is usually gone by lunchtime but I find this a very annoying "bonus" that goes along w. my CF morning cough that is usually gone by lunch as well.

I'm wondering if CFers ever get tonsillitis. I went to the sinus doctor and he said that my sinuses look OK and that I'm not a candidate for surgery. Could lung inflammation creep up to irritate one's throat? or is this all in my mind?

Anyway I am just looking for a way to reduce these daily sore throats.

Since you take care of your sinuses & allergies.....could it just be that you breath through your mouth during the nite? OR snore really bad?

My mouth gets really dry & I have some wicked bad breath from breathing through my mouth, but my throat will get sore from bad snoring.

Could it be acid reflux that you dont feel at night. Some time I get it bad and it gives me a sore throat.

I also will get a sore throat in the morning from my sinuses draining. I gargle with salt water and that usualy helps right away.

I know you said you do sinus rinses BUT I still am thinking it may be sinus drainage related to post nasal drip.

I only say that because I get this too. I do sinus rinses daily - often multiple times a day and still get the sore throat alot of the time. When I get the sore throat nine times out of ten I have some sort of drainage working.

I either do a sinus rinse or clear my throat and spit out whatever I can and within a short time I am feeling better.

If I do the sinus rinse when I have a sore throat it normally takes about 30 minutes for the sore throat to go away. If I clear my throat and remove the irritant that way it is often times within about 10 minutes that my throat feels better.
