Yes the CFF says we need one at least 2x a year.

I try to only do one a year unless I'm having issues...I hate the whole process of of getting a sample...I can never get one up when its need/wanted (but any other time I'm always coughing junk up) and I hate throat swabs so I avoid cultures. it does end up being atleast once a year...usually when my doc starts threatening a bronchoscopt then I get my butt in gear and work at getting a good sample up
