Starting Tobi early?

I just finished Tobi a little over 3 weeks ago-my first time. I came down with a cold that moved into my lungs about 3 days ago. I called my CF doctor to start on oral meds-he called them in but also told me to start my Tobi now as well-early-to be double covered.
Is this normal?
