Firstly a bit of background info!
I had a fairly miserable few months - attacks of dizziness, nausea, unexplained left sided abdo pain and very very fatigued.
Towards the end of March my chest started acting up aswell so I was admitted to the hospital for IV's (here if your chest isn't affected and your weight's maintained they tend to try to ignore all these other issues).
So after a week of IV's I could barely get out of bed, couldn't go to the gym etc so they started testing me for Addison's, sent me for a tilt test, colonoscopy and a bundle of other things..
Everything came back clear (which is good I guess!) and they couldn't explain it.
So just before I was being discharged (3 weeks later & feeling worse than I went in) my regular doctor came back from holidays and reviewed my case and noticed that I'd low cortisol levels at the start of the test for Addisons......(frustrating)
So here I am on prednisone for the first time and a bit unsure of it all. (But feeling much better & back at work)
I suppose my first question is
- Has anyone else experienced low cortisol levels and if so do you end up on prednisone long term?
And secondly
- We're currently trying to get pregnant; can you take prednisone while pregnant?
oh and I can't stop eating and my sugar levels (i'm altering my insulin doses) are all over the place - I assume that's normal side effects??
i'm back at clinic at the end of the month so I'll be discussing all this with her aswell!
Sorry my post is so long
