Hi everyone!
I haven't posted in a while, but I have a question. I have been off steroids for 8 years and finally had to take some this week because I became very inflamed and had to go on ivs as well....dang it. Anyway, I am very opposed to steroids because I am very altenative therapy oriented....anti-inflammatory diet, glutathtione, ala, l-arginine, curcumin..you get the picture.

Anyway, my dose is 20 mg for 2 days, 15 mg for 2 days, 10 mg for 2 days, and finally 5 mg for 2 days.....

Can any of you guys tell me what to expect with this dose and what I should look for as normal/abnormal reactions.

And weight gain....will it stay with me after? please say it will

You might get a little anxious anxiety. That dose is not that high, you will most likely experience little to no side effects.

When I am on larger doses of prednisone I can usually tell an immediate difference in my breathing - I feel more open and able to breathe easier. That is if my problems are mainly inflammation. I usually cough more stuff up too.

As for other symptoms I normally only get problems with the higher doses - by the time I am at 5 mg I rarely have problems. I will get acne pretty bad though and the worst place for me with the acne is my chest (ick!) it goes away within a week of being off the prednisone. Hungry like a wild animal - and never feeling full. The weight I gain while on prednisone rarely stays with me long term but that may just be me. If you continue to take in large amounts of food and calories I could see the weight staying on though. My appetite typically tapers off once I am on 10mg or less per day. Sometimes I can get restless - but that relates to the eating ... I get restless because I wake up in the middle of the night hungry for food lol.
