Still waiting for a reply

I'm getting a little frustrated about no answers to my inquires about the eFlow, much less other compressors, or even getting enzymes and other stuff that seem significant in my daily life.

I can still go without enzymes, but because my health feels like it's getting more complicated, I'm trying to get the enzymes before things are even more complicated.

My doctor didn't "insist" I need aerosol treatments, but he said it would be beneficial. I told him I'd take the time to research for what type of compressors are available, yet as I'm searching, I'm getting nothing.

I've asked on this forum, with little to no help. I've even gone directly to two sites where PARI has "inquiries", and am still waiting for a reply, one of which has been from an inquiry I sent a week ago.

I was given the blunt reply that Smiths Medical doesn't carry the eFlow, but that wasn't from a Smiths Medical representative, I'm still waiting to see if Smiths Medical will give a repy to my post.

As I was wishing my mother a "Happy Mother's Day", we had discussed the idea that my brother-in-law, who is a 20 year Army Veteran, said I should be getting some medical assistance from the Embassy, even if it's through the Consulate in Osaka.

However, doing a search as to who I should be talking to when I'm getting the "automated operator", I found out that depending on which prescripton medications, the Japanese Government will not let them in, even if it's a "life threatening" necessity.

Just like to know where to go to when my resources for inquiries are running low.

The only thought I have right now is to insist the doctor do my researching, after I tell him how the Japanese Government is so restrictive on medications being imported from the states, and that even the commonest of medications I need may be on their list of "No Entry"!

Problem with that idea, is that it'll probably cost me at least $15 to tell him that!!

Wow...I have no idea how to help you out, Fred. I know virtually nothing about the eFlow myself. Its so new that there probably isn't much information on it. I can tell you that I use the Pari ProNeb Ultra compressor and the Pari LC Plus nebulizers for my treatments, but I don't think that bit of information is really going to help you, either. I'm pretty happy with my Pari compressor, and I would recommend it if you're just looking for a good compressor to buy to get you started.

That sucks the the Japanese government is so restrictive with meds. There has to be a way to get around that somehow. I mean, what do they do, say, "Oh, well, we won't let that in the country, so you'll just have to get sick and die without it." WTF?! Here's hoping you don't have to worry about that, and that your meds are on the safe list!

Do they have the same restrictions for every country? Otherwise you could try to get something from Europe.
What if your family just sends you "birthday packages", they won´t open every arriving package I think.
As far as concerning enzyms: how did you get them until now?

Thank You, all for the replies, including those who PM'd me.

First, I'd like to pass on a summarization of the information that Jeanne was able to give me when she happened to talk to PARI recently.

Basically, the eFlow is still going through approval in the U.S., and the eFlow available in Europe is a different model, so if I want to use all those new products, I'd have to come to the States for them! She did recommend an alternative nebulizer, which I will research the idea.

Lilith also had a few on her reply that I will add for researching.

Also, with Uli's suggestion to see what's available from Europe (seems a lot of drugs are coming from Europe) as far as nebs, but the "birthday package" , or "care package" won't work...I've had some packages searched by Japanese customs (I could tell because they did a bad job at re-taping the box closed!), and the least I need are missing things that I paid for!
BTW, Uli, I've been miraculously been going without enzymes up to this point. I've spent the first 10 years of being decieved by the ex (for one thing, she claimed she would take care--or help take care-- of my health if I came to live in Japan!), and when I finally realized to take responsibility for my own health, I've been taking supplements and avioding hard-to-digest foods. Seems Japanese Cuisine agrees with my system. My new wife did get some enzyme "supplements" that helped, but she didn't get any more after that.

It was even suggested I ask sourcecf.com (name?) about the eFlow, and while I was surfing their home page, saw supplements as well. They only gave me a reply on the supplements, and indicated they have no guarantee that the Japanese Customs would allow them to go through, but I can order online for them! No mention was given about the eFlow.

Oh, and as for the part about medications being banned from importing, here is the homepage of the U.S. Embassy in Japan, where I found it written:

<li>http://tokyo.usembassy.gov/e/acs/tacs-medimport.html

hope that links, but if it doesn't, here's the route:

<b>U.S. Embassy of Japan </b>(tokyo.usembassy.gov)
from there, click <b>Resources</b>,
then <b>American Citizen Services</b>
then, from the <u>"Living in Japan"</u> list, select <b>Online Resources for Americans (link)</b>
then, <b>Medical Resources in Japan</b>
then <b>Importing or Bringing Medication into Japan for Personal Use</b>
and, you have the page which describes what I'm talking about!

I guess this goes back to having a serious discussion with my doc, though having a few pamphlets (or my computer having it's dial-up link to the homepages) would seem to help in discussion about my needs. I'll work on making up a list of enzymes and nebs to throw at the doc for discussion!
I heard Creon was a good enzyme, I used to be on Cotazyme S, but still had to take 15 with every meal!!
