I hate to say this but...quit awhile ago like 12 plus yrs everytime I ate didn't matter what it was I would be in a lot of pain....turned out I had 3 huge gallstones and I had to get my gallbladder out and at the time when I did it was a good thing that I did cause my gallbladder was really infected. So you might need your gallbladder removed!

I also had gallstones and had to have my gallbladder removed about 20 years ago (when I was 16). Then, after the surgery, I still had the similar pains, and saw something on tv about the possibility of gallstone garbage being left behind in the common bile duct causing it. I asked my Dr. and he laughed and said that no, that wasn't it, let's get you on enzymes. They made it worse, so I quit them (I hadn't taken them for several years at that point). Fast forward almost 15 years, I'm in for a tune up at the new adult cf center, and they decide to send me for tests while I'm in there. Low and behold, there's a stone in my bile duct!. And I had some pancreatitis! So now I'm on the generic actigal and drinking lots of water and my liver tests finally came back as much, much improved. Also, I found out this year I had h-pylori, (after having been hospitalized for a liver infection- more stones)and was treated for it at my new gastrointerologist (love him! He's great!) and so far, only minor, and rare, stomach discomfort.

Said all that to say this: If your Dr. isn't listening, be proactive and keep at it- don't suffer as long as I did .

Oh, and I'm also on nexium for acid reflux- it took a while for me to get used to it, and I have to take it with my dinner, instead of before, but I am really happy with it .

I've felt better the last couple of days. No tummy ache at all. I don't know what it was, but its gone now. If it comes up again though I'll have my gallblader checked.

Yep, please do get it checked if it comes back, or at least ask about it at your next appointment. Gallbladder pain can come and go.

For about 2 yrs or something like that I complained about pain in my tummy right after I ate but the docs said it can't be your gallbladder cause the pain was in the "wrong place"....I kept on persisting and finally I was right. So keep on persisting, don't take NO for an answer make them check your gallbladder!
