strange "cellulitus"

its a complete MYSTERY! i've had this strange inflamation on my leg that looks like an outta control hive...

background: i've gotten something like this about every 2-3 years since i was 7...varying on different parts of my foot, ankle, and shin.

Has anyone ever gotten this? it MUST be a CF thing! No one knows what it is and the doctors (needing always to have a concret cause for everything) have blamed it on injury, bug bits, spider bits, and allergic reactions... but nothinh definite ever.

SO, I turn to you all.

It's very painfull to walk on and it feels like i've sprained my ankle, only on my shin. it starts like a bruise, turns red and swells, then goes back to a bruise, then away, all in a matter of about 5 days.

I'm going to see a dermatologist tomorrow...but she probably wont say much.

thanks for the response...i looked at your pictures. unfortunatly i dont think we have the same thing. I've read a little more and i'm now leaning towards a cf related arthritis? i'll ask the doctor tomorrow..

i dont have cepacia either

no, LouLou's condition is the same thing-cf related vasculitis can manifest itself in several different ways. I have it too. What you are describing is EXACTLY what I get on my thighs. It looks just like cellulitis-but it is related to Cf lung bugs and an overall Cf immune system response. Its a variation on several types of rheumetological issues.
What I get on my shins is more like LouLou's picture. I have started to get the hive type spots on my arms and wrists too occasionally. I have been on prednisone but its not working for some reason.
Please pm me if you have more questions. I have had this for 5 yrs and it took me 2-3 yrs to get a diagnosis. Its a difficult process and I know how painful this is to deal with. Hang in there and get it treated-it can turn into more serious issues. Take care.
