I was almost expecting this to happen last week when I really sick...sort of looking for it but not wanting to see it, ya know. I am wondering if I should be concerned...shouldn't my lungs be getting better since I have been on abx for a week? I was not expecting it and it just came right after and normal cough. There was no hard cough or feeling of bleeding. Is it worth it to call the doctor?

Oh, and I am not on IV's...just orals (Bactrim and Tobi).

It was during albuterol and I know that you are usually supposed to skip HTS and Vest after bleeding...but I kept going with my routine...and there was no more. So I am assuming it won't happen again today. Does that mean I stop worrying unless it does happen again?

I don't like to freak out about these things because I know that it is quite 'normal' for CFer's, but it was very red and very obviously blood and I am pretty sure it was from my lungs and not my sinuses. Also, it has only happened to me twice before, so it technically isn't normal for me. Let me know what you think! Thanks!

It sounds like maybe you moved a mucus plug or something and caused a little irritation in your lungs. If the bleeding persists or turns into a greater volume than just streaking then it is likely a sign of infection.

Are you coughing very much or do you feel like the antibiotics are getting at the root of the infection?

You should give you doctor a head's up but I wouldn't expect any changes in your regimen.
