I always make sure its okay to be able to eat in class, especially if you have CFRD, cause some professors frown upon that and I think it's included in the absence thing but to make sure that you won't be discounted from class if you are late. I had a professor one time who locked the doors two minutes after class started which totally screwed me especially on the days when I needed an extra treatment. I'm not totally sure how sick you are but I have found some professors can work out a schedule with you that you don't necessarily have to go to all the classes, just as long as you do the reading. But I was lucky in those few cases, it's always good to ask. Oh also, having a clause in the DRD letter (disability resources department thats what its called at my school) that its okay to have your cell phone on incase your doctors call for some reason. Thats always a good one to have too. The first semester is always the hardest to figure out, but once you got it down everything works itself out. Good luck with everything!!!

Depending on the weather where your school is, make sure that the dorm you will be in has air conditioning. Not all of the dorms at my school did. Also, if you are not going to have a car on campus, make sure there is a convenient way for you to get to/from the nearest CF Center. At my school they offered the school escort service to take me to and from the doctor if need be. I had a car so I didn't really ever need use it, but it was a nice back-up plan to have in place.
