Sweat test rescheduled

I called the hospital and found out that our sweat test isn't scheduled til jun 7th, we have a whole other week to wait!!! All that's being done at the appt tomorrow is to test for reflux and I guess that's what the upper GI xray will show.....I will post an update on tomorrows appt tho I feel isn't going to give any answers. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">

Maybe they can do the Ambry Aplified Test in the meantime. All it takes is blood.....

I don't understand the big deal about scheduling sweat tests and then waiting days for the results. We live in a metropolitan area of about 1 million, and we were able to get a sweat test within a few days of being told to do so; AND we got the test results within the hour.

Is the GI test at the same facility? Maybe you could call them up and mention that since you're going to be there anyway, maybe they should go ahead and adminster the sweat test, too. Better yet, ask about genetic blood testing.

DS passed his sweat test with a normal 32 at an accreditted facility. Fortunately, the neonatologist had already ordered blood testing at our local hospital before he was transferred to a children's hospital. We got the results of the blood tests BEFORE the sweat test came back, which thoroughly confused me.
