I'm sorry she had to hav colon surgery but so glad you have a definitive answer. Her doctor should write a case study about her case.
What is the colon tissue test for cf called? Were they going in anyway or just for diagnostic purposes?

She had to have 28 inches of her colon removed. She's had chronic constipation since birth and developed a very redundant colon. It was coiled on to of itself. Our pediatrician has never seen that before and asked if our surgeon has ever seen it before, so I guess it's rare.
She tried doing the NPD test a week prior to her surgery and couldn't finish it. She made it thru the first stage and her results were suggestive of cf. When the cf specialist found out she was having a bowel resection he asked to test her colon tissue from her surgery. He worked it out with our surgeon to go to the or and get her tissue. They just happen to work in the same hosp. This test is only being done in 4 hospitals in the US. It is used as a diagnostic test in Europe and will be used as a diagnostic test in the US probably next year.
