thanks for hot tub info

Thank you all for your replies on the hot tub question I posted. We have gone ahead with an Artic Spa, had the site survey & the electrics were put in yesterday, just got to arrange to have chemical training now & wait for our tub to be delivered. CAN'T WAIT, we should have it in the next two weeks.

I learnt lots of info, and I agree with the point that someone has to take the bugs into the tub in the first place. I think I will give my hands a wipe with the wipes they use at the hospital, as they are most likely to be the most 'bugsy' with putting your hand to your mouth when you cough.

We are going to be using the bromine system and just empty the water on a monthly basis rather than a 3 monthly and keeping it well monitered.

Of course I will be keeping a close eye on my lab results, just to make sure they don't get any worse

You will love your hot tub - we love ours and it really helps with arthritic pain. Did you buy the additional ozonator? This is something additional that can be installed (alot of the newer hot tubs already have them). This device injects bacteria killing ozone into the water to kill micro-organisms.

Hi, yes we got the best on the market which I believe is a peak ozonator & I forgot to mention that the tub is outside, can't wait to be watching the night sky for those shooting stars......

The hot tub thread also helped me get over my fear of "germy" hot tubs.... Seems more CFers use them with no negative results than don't use them, so I've decided to live my life and go into my parents' hot tub when I visit them. I guess the risk is pretty minimal (from what ya'll say) as long as its clean... and it is. So, I thank you as well.
