I'm not sure if I should be celebrating this or not. I've read Sean's posts with interest & once I have spoken to my docs & got their ok I will try the oregano oil (Not easy to get in the united kingdom). Been to the hospital today but only saw the house doc, who could barely speak english, so I will mention it at the end of i.v's. to my cf specialist.

I bought the Thyme & Clove leaf oil over 3 weeks ago, for my facial sauna, I couldn't wait another week to start so just used the two. Within a few days my cough had dried up and I just really coughed something up during physio. When the cinnamon did arrive I found it very strong to inhale & my cough seemed to return, so I stopped using it after 4 days.

I was hoping that my lung function would have gone up more today, but at least it hasn't gone down. my sats were 97/98% normally they are 95 or 96%. My last iv's were in October & my lung function then started at 27 & increase at the end of my iv's. So I guess my increase of 1% today is a good sign, as my lung function would have normally of dropped down to 23/25% between iv's.

Now I realise that Sean is a fit cf guy as he plays hockey etc & I am tired after my 10 mins on my excercise machines & my lung function is fairly bad, but I have felt that I do have a little more energy when I am excercising and not as short of breath at the end.

I only do the oils once a day & a very tiny drop (I use an insulin needle & syringe as it's very hard to just get 1 drop out of a glass bottle)

It will be interesting to see if my lab results are growing any less bugs. I guess it has only been 3 weeks since I started the oils & I do have several years worth of pseudomonos in my lungs.

Another plus side is that my house smells really nice too.

Good to hear you are doing something, and atleast starting to see a hint of benefit. I would recommend you try inhaling the oregano oil and the thyme oil 2 times a day. Start with 1 drop each for each time. Then when you get a little more used to it, do 2 drops each for each session and stay at two times a day. While something is better than nothing (one very small drop once a day), with the amount of bugs, and the quantity of bugs in our lungs/system, you should probably ratchet it up a notch.


And no I don't play hockey, I watch hockey and enjoy it a ton. I was pretty active before this latest mindframe funk though. I used to bike and rollerblade all the time and lift weights religiously at the gym.


Lemme know if you choose to try what I suggested, and if so, let me know after a bit if you feel better. BTW I't wasn't me that suggested we use facial saunas and oils, it was someone else. I was using different oils with nebulizing them.

And I agree about the cinnamon oil, it's some real nasty stuff. If anything, if you can't tolerate the cinnamon oil at all or if it makes you feel funkier, drop that and just use the thyme/oregano/clove oil.

I do take them since about 4 weeks now. My personal feeling is that I´m less tired since, but my blood-check had the normal (bad) results concerning the inflammation signs.
