Ambien CR works much better for me as it keeps you asleep as well as helping you fall asleep. However make sure your doc knows all the cold/flu meds you're taking cause not sure starting a sleeping med with the flu is in your best interests.

That is so wierd Solo: I tried Ambien too once about 6 months ago. It didn't do one thing for me. I couldn't sleep for the life of me.

The Ambien did nothing. How many milligrams do you take?

Hello JenWren. I take 5mg. The only reason I take ambien is because my walls are practically as thin as cardboard, and I'm a light sleeper. Some days, my neighbors sound like a stampede of elephants. The only reason why I might wake up in the middle of the night is if my blood sugar is too low or high. It's weird, if it's low, I have a dream that my blood sugar is low then I wake up. Weird eh?

Ambien only works sometimes for me. 10 mg will help me go to sleep, but it doesn't keep me asleep. It's easy to build up a tolerance for this med. I have tried other "nonhabitforming" sleep meds, but I feel like I'm in a coma for about 24 hours. I just deal with little sleep now.
