The HORRIBLE winter virus and IVs

Who else has gotten the winter virus going around? Severe respiratory symptoms, a cough that just hangs on and on. I know of dozens of people, some healthy average people that been landed in the hospital bc of this thing. A few in my family for example had the cough extremely bad (sounded over the phone like me when I'm really sick), and their cough lasted a month.<br><br>I secluded myself basically, but it was too late. I started getting sick Dec. 7th, Dec 12th I called the doctor asking for IVs. I began Dec 14th, but got interrupted with level changes 2 times, which made me lose 4 days of Tobra. Had to stop and take a break bc the levels were too high.<br>So now its the 30th and my bad hacking cough is gone, but I'm wheezing, especially in the morning. I still have no appetite. Also the past few days I'm having streaking. I didn't even start out with streaking in the first place. <br><br>I'm on Tobra 1x a day, Ceftaz 3x a day, and 500 ml of hydration 3x a day. I'm doing 2 chest pt's a day. That seems to be all I can handle bc I'm so tired. But perhaps I should move to 3. <br>

Yep...both my DH & I have it...doing everything we can to keep our little CFer from getting it. Ugh - it's not a pleasant thing.<br><br><br>

<P>My DH has it right now! I had the flu (w/fortunately few resp. symptoms) last week. I barely left the couch on M,T, and W last week! I'm glad I didn't need IV's to get past it. My doc gave me Tamiflu, which I think helped.</P>

Yeah, just not sure what to do. I called the clinic and waiting to hear back. Not sure if this is the nature of the virus and I need more time, or if I should add another abx, steroid, something..<br>

Yep, hospital IVs before x-mas, orals now almost done, wheezy still, went to the gym Tues when fever tapered off and the heavy breathing of a Middle Eastern dance class (not usually a heavy breather for me) started up pleurisy on my right side which had been gone for four days. Back on anti-inflammatories so I can breathe deep and cough. Sleep sucks. My family's going off to ILs for new year's so I can r&r.

<br>I have been Sick since 1 week before Christmas I am doing IVs but still am not in the clear.Wheezing a cough and my lungs are in so much pain I keep hoping maybe i will feel better in the morning.Hope you get to feeling better soon my prayers go out to you

hmm wow-who knew a crazy virus like this would be getting us all?, such similar symptoms. I also have this awful deep wheezing and pain.<br>I think I'm gonna ask for steroids. My lungs love me some prednisone! My brain hates it, but what can you do.<br>

Regionally - where is everyone? Is this possibly related or just winter? You guys are really scaring me...I so hope our little guy does not get this. I don't want him to wind up on ivs. Ugh.
