Anyone out there that uses the vest do you get really SOB when using it with a lung infection? I am TRYING to use it to help get this gunk up and it is making my SOB worse

I lowered the pressure to 5 and it still isn't helping. I am out of options and the accapella isn't working.

Anyone have any suggestions????

Thanks!!!

OH AMY!

I know that feeling. That is when I know its time to go in the hospital for manual CPT. I feel to "restricted" in the vest & it makes things worse!

I am worried about ya now!

Sometimes the vest can jiggle that stuff into an area where it just gets stuck and you can't breathe effectively to move it out of the way. Like Mel said, that's when manual cpt in a specific area can help better. Usually I have my husband do manual CPT on my during an infection because it works better.

Hang in there. I hope you feel better soon!

I agree with lightNlife... I think sometimes the stuff gets stuck in weird places from being jarred around and it's hard to get up. Have you tried using any extra HS? I know I keep saying it, but I always use a heating pad on my chest to help thin the mucus out.. Also , maybe you can drink something hot and take an extra Mucinex?
