The Vest

I have the Hill Rom vest. I set my pressure at 3 (I have the chest vest, not the full vest. If you have the full vest, they say you can go up on the pressure) and my frequencies I gradually go up.
This is how I break down my session:
8 MHz for 5 min
10 MHz for 5 min
12 Mhz for 5 min
14 Mhz for 5 min
16 .......
and finally 18 for the final 5 minutes, adds up to 30 minutes total, done twice a day.

I am finally getting the full vest as the chest vest seems to be missing my lower lobes, so we will see if changing to that will make a difference in my lower airway clearance.

Hope this helps!

I have a smart vest. I do 30 minutes in the am and 30 minutes in the afternoon. When I am fighting something I add 15 minutes after lunch (and push the afternoon treatment back a hour or so). I do 9 mhz for 10 minutes, and then 10 mhz for 20 minutes.

In the hospital they do 3- 10 minute vest sessions. I get more treatment time in at home!!!

Usually, he's playing video games or watching tv and doing his breathing treatments and the vest all at one time. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> We are very thankful for the VEST because I do remember the times that I had to do it myself the old fashion way. UGH....Went to the CF doctor yesterday and his PFTs and lung function was at 100%. </FONT></EM>
