Even tho when my appetite was good I could eat my parents out of house & home....when I was having flareups the first thing to go was my appetite. To this day its the first thing before I connect an change in cough etc. I dont want to eat or drink which is highly dangerous for me because I lose weight & dehydrate very quickly. Its a combo of no interest & its difficult to eat/drink.

Baylessmummy, I remember thinking when you first posted that your son had
"bottle aversion" I think you called it - the first thought that popped into my head was that maybe to him, eating = don't feel good (cramping, gas, diarrhea). So he has learned to try to avoid something he associates with pain? Just a thought but I'm certainly not a medical professional. Good luck and I hope you get some answers soon from the right medical professionals! Keep working for your son!

thanks, i ended up taking him into ed last night as he turned blue from a coughing fit. he has a few infections at the moment that just wont clear up even with three different types of antibiotics tried. he is very chesty at the moment and i have found what looks like yellow phlem and dried blood on his blanket from his cot. they have said to me that if his infections dont clear up in a weeks time they are doing tests for CF. they also took a mucous test from his nose with a suction kit. i dont know what for? he was previously mis diagnosed with severe GERD but now found to not have it as a barium swallow showed no reflux and no medications for reflux have worked. i also noticed that he was not a typical refluxer in some aspects anyhow because he did not vomit all that much and he would not cry when i layed him on his back. he seems to have gas pains all the time and is a big man farter.lol. he also farts and has a small bowel movement with it. his sleeping is not that great either. thanks for all your support and i will update how we go with tests etc...
