This is an amazingly moving song. I hear it and start to cry as well. It was amazing when he did it on the award show live.

Being a military spouse, this is particularily touching to me, as my DH will be leaving for Iraq within the next several months. Its hasn't really hit me yet, but it will.

He brought home paperwork the other day about where he'd like to be buried, who I'd like to come to the door to notify me should (God forbid) something happen, if I'd like a chaplain present, a physcian present, who I'd like them to call, etc. etc... We had to fill out the paperwork and place it in a sealed envelope for his commander to open only in that dreadful moment. I told him I need to watch him seal it, cause I can just see him sneaking the lyrics to this song inside with a note to give them to me. I started crying just thinking about it... And, thinking about all our BRAVE SELFLESS men and women and their families who HAVE had to experience this for us to continue to live free. God Bless our Troops. And, thank you to Mr. McGraw for writing such an amazing song.
