Tobi

I rarely do inhaled Tobi but have been battling more frequent lung infections so thought it was time to start a round. The first few days of Tobi are fine, it feels like things are breaking up and my cough is more productive. Then about 2 weeks into it, I start getting incredibly wheezy and my chest gets so tight it feels like I'm breathing through a straw. Today I found it difficult to walk around the office without gasping for breath. Then walking to my car in the cold caused a coughing fit and my mucous was tinged with blood. What gives? I also have asthma but frig, this really sucks! I really want to get through the full 28 days but it honestly keeps getting worse and worse until I either have to stop or just deal with gasping for breath every second. I really just want to vent about how annoying this is, but is there anyone else out there who has this problem? What do you do for it? Is Cayston any better?
Thanks!

My son just started Tobi and he also has asthma. The doctor told us that we needed to give him albuterol 15 minutes before the Tobi because it can cause bronchiospasms. So far, we haven't seen any issues. I'm sorry you are having a rough time.

I had a really difficult time tolerating TOBI as well. Cayston, however, has caused me no difficulties. I would talk to your doctor about trying it. It's so great to have another option.

EVERYTIME I start Tobi, I get sick. I'll feel like I'm getting an infection and usually have to stop it to start IVs. I tell my doctor this ALL the time, but I guess she thinks I'm just making it up. In fact I started it Sunday and I had just finished my first monyh of cayston and was feeling great. Well, within 2 days on Tobi, I started running fevers and just feeling horrible, so I've stopped taking it. My doctor wants me to continue, but I just don't want to.
