Tobramyocin vs. Colistin

Does anyone else respond light years better on Colistin than Tobramyocin?

On my months on Tobra, I feel like total crap....months on Colistin, I feel great.

I talked to my doc about it, and he told me that there's another option that will be available end of this year. Anyone know about this? Does it sound as promising as I'd like?

I just can't believe the difference between these two drugs for me. Night and day.

I like how I feel on Colistin better then Tobi, but its not as user friendly.

There are people that have issues with both so it really seems to be an individual thing.

Yea, I always noticed I did way better on Colistin and it got to the point that the past few years, I do Colistin all the time b/c I'd feel so crappy off of it. I've never become resistant to it either. It's a wonderful drug! If you do it in the eFlow it takes WAY less time too! About 5 min.! Most insurances don't like to cover it though b/c it's off label use when you inhale it. I had to change my Medicare plan and use a different Pharmacy to get it. Was a huge ordeal to get back on it when I started gettting Medicare/Medicaid but it is totally worth it. Colistin is like gold to me, hehe! I've always felt a tad tighter after doing it but then goes away and when my numbers started going up when I first started using it, I knew it was doing it's job. I do believe it has kept me going a few extra years. Thanks you Colistin!
