Has anyone ever heard of this and / or know anyone with one?

I was on the University of Penn's website looking into transplant info (never too early to start) and I saw this. I thought it was interesting.

I wouldn't think that would be ideal for CF but I had never heard of it before.

Looks like a great program there at Penn.

Thats what I was trying to figure out. If it would be something that CFers would want - if they were on O2 long term. Like opting out of transplant. I don't think I would want it. I saw some pictures and it looks weird and they don't even knock you out to put it in!!! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-shocked.gif" border="0"> No thanks!!!!

Transtracheal O2 is typically used to decrease the liter flow required to maintain a SAT. Example...rather than needing 5 liters N/C you may only need only 1 T/C. They are rarely used and I haven't ever seen one outside of the example above. So not really a transplant replacement but maybe a way to maintain unitl you get one. Take care
