<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote>It seems like now that i have been doing the vest and using pulmozyme regularly for the past 4 years , my lungs dont know how to do anything for them selves anymore and i have to totally "rely" on those methods for clearance.</end quote></div>

It is funny that you say that because I have often felt dependant upon Pulmozyme. I have been on it for so long that when I go off of it for just a few days I can tell a difference in my coughing and my breathing. I am currently off of it - until tomorrow - and have been doing okay but I think that is because I was JUST on IVs and other antibiotics so the stuff in my lungs is pretty thin and as uninfected as it is gonna get probably.

word to the wise, don't skip your treatments and don't feel guilty if you need extra ones on some days. One of the worst enemies us CF'ers have is the tendency to get mucous plugs. Thats what causes the infections most of the time. Keep the mucous movin' and you will benefit.
