trouble finding clothing that fits?

My daughter is 15 and she weighs 105 lbs. and is 5 ft. She is having such a hard time finding jeans that fit and look good. She has no hips and hardly any butt - I always thought that would be a good problem to have but she is so frustrated. We shopped all weekend and came home with no jeans! I'm just wondering if anyone else is about her size and where do you get your jeans and what size? Any help will be appreciated.

im assuming the jeans she tries on are too loose around the bum? your wallet may not like this but i find the expensive brands like seven for all mankind, blue cult, frankie b and similar to be the best fitting. they arent as baggy as the cheaper brands and they make me look like i actually have a bum. they also go down to really small sizes.

actually, some of the expensive brands actually make cheaper versions of their jeans. i know blue cult have one called 'blue 2'. if you are after something cheaper perhaps that might be worth a go?

*did my own research and seven for all mankind do not have a budget line. sorry

I am 5' 3" & weigh 105 lbs. I have a hell of a time finding jeans that fit unless you like lower riders which I dont since I wear grannie panty underwear. Anyway without spending a fortune I finally found something at JC Penny (or the catalog I should say). I bought St. Johns Bay Classic Fit. They come in the tapered leg that I like & normally go for $20./pair. I was able to get them half price during a super sale a few years ago. I bought a size 4 petite & at that time (still under 100 pounds) they were a bit loose (but nothing compared to my other pants) & filled out nicely as I put on a few more pounds. The only thing I dont like getting the petite size is that I like my pant legs a bit longer which the petite doesnt allow. Since your daughter is a few inches shorter than I am the petite should work fine for her. I am the Queen of Liberty of looking for jeans & ending up totally disgusted!

I shop at the petite section of JCPenny too. Sometimes Kohls will have something, but they don't tend to have a very good assortment.

A brand name to try is Gloria Vanderbilt. You can find them at any department store (including Pennys and Kohls), and are wallet friendly. I have no butt or hips, but they somehow seem to give me some

Thank you all for your suggestions.

Melissa, we did check Penney's this weekend but our store doesn't have much to pick from. I will try online and see if I have better luck. I will also check out a few more stores online and see what they have. The only bad thing is that she can't try them on and you know how that goes!

Kylie, I have never heard of some of those brands. Where do you buy them?

Seana, I wish we had a store like what you mentioned. We don't. I may need to one of the bigger towns and see what they have to offer.

Thank you!! Thank you!!

The actual store doesnt carry anywhere as much as the catalog & online does......I just looked at my Spring catalog & the pants I ordered are still avaiable for $19.99. Good Luck!

I have no butt whatsoever (my friends say they have never seen anything like it) and I wear abercrombie and gap jeans. they both are still a little big in the butt but i just wear a belt. i have had jeans tailored before but found that it really is not worth it. I figure, i don't see my butt so i just pretend its not there.

For Gap, the long and leans are good for me (even though i am also just 5'3 and 108ilbs)

I go to Rave or Charlotte Russ for jeans.
Rave caters to the 'in' crowd so it's easy to find stuff that looks good. (by 'in' I mean slender, no butt, thin, curvy etc) Since I usually stick with the low cut stuff it was easy to find jeans in my size. I've found jean sizes all the way down to 00 in Rave. I've had to move onto Charlotte Russ jeans due to the fact that there is no Rave within close vicinity (no car) and I'm hitting size 5 now so I'm not sure what Charlotte Russ carries. (I do know they get pretty expensive though). Rave usually found jeans about 20 per pair.. not bad considering. Sometimes cheaper depending on sales and such.

Abercrombie tends to be a bit too expensive for my taste. I'm not sure how much their jeans are, but I know they're a lot more expensive then the $30 dollar jeans I'm used to buying.

I'm 4'9" and between 95 and 100 lbs on my good days. When jean shopping I usually go for Levi's 518 stretch and short. They also have a slim fit as well. On sale they run between $25-$30. They last me about five years per pair so I consider it a good investment. If you need something cheaper, City Wear has Jeans for small people in a variety of styles. They have as low as size 00. Also their jeans are between $10-$20. With a little extra care you can get those jeans to last a couple of years.

I have a hard time with jeans. None fit me. The only ones that do are girls size 14 so thats what I buy. Shirts are no prob it's just the jeans but thankfully the girls fit me and they are the perfect length too. I'm little so length has always been a prob for me.

ahhh, my life long struggle. I too found that 7 for all man
kind fit well (size 24 sometimes they have a 23 available), though
they are about $100 they can be found at Macys, Nordstrom dept
store. I also have order a pair of custom jeans form
mejeans.com they are being shipped so I don't know how well they
came out yet but i will try to remember to let you know.

Also, Victoria secret online their size 0 fits well and you have
some options on the hem length.

If all else fails buy what you like and is close to fitting and
take it for alterations, my lady ran me about $35 to alter 3 pairs
of pants...worth every penny. (Macys has alterations available
in store if you are buying clothes there they can call for the
seamstress to come to you in the fitting room)

Editing to add: i'm 5'1 and 93lbs (to give you a point of reference
on these)

im not sure where to buy them in the US because i buy all mine off online retailers. i guess you could go to a US fashion forum and ask around? be warned. these jeans retail anywhere from 100 USD upwards. but damn they look good!

argh what am i talking about. i belong to a forum specifically for designer jeans. silly me! if you want me to ask them about which shops sell them just ask [but if you have the major stores that debbie mentioned near you then you dont have to worry, just go there]. i need to know what area you live in though. in fact, if you do consider those types of jeans, when you find the right size for your daughter you can actually get them for a cheaper price off online retailers when they have sales. some go out for up to half price.
