Update on my son

Hi, I thought I would update you all on my son Dominic. We met with the genetist yesterday, and she feels that he shoud be at least be evaluated by a CF Clinic. His results are very contradictory. He has 2 postive sweat tests inconclusive DNA anaylasis and other other testing has come back normal. Overall she considers him to be a very healthy little boy. She feels th CF center will be able to support him better when the sinusitis and cough start back up again in the fall.
She has referred us to the CF Center in Hartford CT. We have an appointment in December. We are still trying to wrap our heads around it all. But I guess tears and denial will get us nowhere. It is what it is and we will do our best to educate ourselves and work on keeping Dominc happy and most of all healthy.

Thanks for the update - so are you saying they have given him an "a-typical" CF diagnosis, based on the sweat tests, but DNA testing was negative? Was that a screening or full genetic testing?

That is very good news to hear he will be followed by a CF team - that is very valuable.
