If it makes you feel any better, my nurse always tells me there is a time window( an hour) for when you hook up your meds. 15 minutes isnt too bad to be late at all. Its when they show up an hour late that would really irk me.
Germs? unfortunately theres not too much you can do about them other than make sure the room you are in is disinfected. Make sure to wipe the bedrails, tv remote, phone, toilet handle, door handles, table, iv pole, everything you can think of that you may touch. Frequent hand washing is also a good way to stay "germ free". Do you have a window that you can open? I've had hospital rooms that had windows that opened and i opened them every single day to freshen the air in my room. Try your darndest to relax, keep remembering you wont be in there much longer and will be at home to do your own meds. Maybe if you have a favorite nurse, you could talk to him/her and tell them your concerns about the iv meds being late that it makes you stress out. Who knows.... it may help. Stay strong and get well soon <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
