I use to see her doc. He IS an ASS!!! That's why I left. He wants things HIS WAY OR NO WAY. HIS patients are known to live longer lives, but that is only if you can handle HIS WAY...My parents couldn't stand him!!! He didn't even want me to have dogs!!! He DOES have an attitude problem. He has been transferred to many different hospitals because of his attitude!!! That's what the nurses told me when I went to a different hospital, and he suddenly started and left within only a few months!!! This was about 6 years ago. It doesn't sound like he changed...

Lauren - I wish you the best. I am sorry you are having such a difficult time right now. I hope that things get better for you soon!!!

Hi, LouLou. Hope I'm not intruding by replying to this. I know I'm all new and stuff lol. I just wanted to tell you that I really feel for you on this one. It's SO hard to leave your kids and go into the hospital. I have 2 little girls and it just breaks my heart every single time. Also, I am just shocked at your DRs words. "What is it you're so anxious to get home for?" Wth is that? Ugh. It seems like drs of all people would realize how much worse the hospital is than your home?! What person in their right mind wants to stay there unless they have no options? About the germs, I do what HairGirl does. I take a package of Clorox wipes and wipe down everything that's not breathing. Our hospital does contact isolation with the CF patients, and I make sure everyone has their stuff on when they come in the door. I scrub my hands any time I have to leave the room or anything, as soon as I come back in, and I have slippers that are only for the hospital. I don't ever bring them up onto the bed, they stay under the bed and I try not to touch them with my hands. I know, I'm a bit of a freak about it, but I always worry about all that stuff in the hospitals. As much as they like to say they try so hard to keep things clean, I have yet to see that lol.

Anyway, just wanted to wish you luck with your stay and your procedure. I hope the time passes quickly for you and you're feeling much better soon.

Hey Lauren, Sorry that you have to go in, but i'm sure that you have made the right decision for yourself. It doesn't sound like you have a good relationship w/ your doctor. Can you make a change (i don't mean right now,but maybe in the future) I hope he was just having a bad day..

As far as the germ thing goes, i think the majority of us are freaked out about germs, and rightfully so.. I do like most, when i get in the room i wipe everything down.. And always remind ppl to wash there hands if i don't see them doing it..

When my oldest son was 6 mos. old i had had my fourth GI surgery (they didnt know i had c/f back then) That was the fastest i ever recuperated from an operation. That being said, when i got dxd at the age of 44 my two younger sons were 3 & 7.. I learned that the best thing for me and my health was to stay in for awhile and get myself as healthy as possible (my desire has and remains to be here as long as i can for them)

I completely understand your fears/concerns/frustrations , but right now your best bet is to focus on yourself (i hope that doesn't sound selfish) so that you can be the best for you and your family.

As far as the nurses being able to move the med times, i think that there is a window of time, so i wouldn't worry to much , unless you feel they are not giving you your meds within those limits..

Please let us know how you do ~ joni

I have never had to have embolization but I have had a picc placed. I've also had my share of some serious surgeries. I want to tell you that you are in my prayers and I hope everything goes okay.
