Does anyone have suggestions that might help me?
My doctor added Zosyn back into my IV cocktail mix last week. I feel a positive difference overall, but it hasnt been easy. As soon as the med hits my system it causes severe nauciousness, dry heaves etc. It feels like gas. Like there is a huge bubble there & I have to burp. I even tried taking my Nexium around the dosing time thinking it would help. No change.
My doctor told me to let her know if it causes real havic on my stomach because she doesnt want me losing weight. It doesnt interfere with my eating for the most part & I dont seem to really vomit anything up. Therefore I havent called.
It just causes pure misery for the time its being administered & shortly after which is not around mealtime so maybe that is why I am lucking out.
I have tried to drink cold water, room temp water, hot tea etc. I have tried having something light in my belly. It helps to a certain point, but not completely.
I will get thru it, but I think the worst part of it all is how physically draining it is. I am already tired from the meds to begin with LOL!
One thing which might help & I will address it with the home Nurse this week is how quickly it gets administered. In the hospital I didnt notice it that much. It could have been administered slower or I was just so out of it & feeling so yucky in general that I didnt notice it being from the Zosyn.
Thanks Guys
