I am on Bactrim as an 'umbrella' anitbiotic to treat germs that I run into during the winter and early spring months. It is not effective against my PA since it is resistant to it. As far as side effects I had fissures around my vagina. This is a form of yeast infection. I treated it and it went a way. Now I take acidophilus and haven't had problems since. I'm not thrilled to be on antibiotics for preventitive care. Although I have come to agree that being on TOBI every other month is best for me, not just when I need it.
