Using Evite for Great Strides fundraising

Anyone used Evite for their GS efforts?

Here's my idea. Tell me if you think it will work, ideas for improvement or your opinion. This is an outline...if I get good reviews from you guys I'll write it out for real.

The invitation title would read something like "Join me in my walk to cure CF"

In the body of the invitation I would explain that they can walk in their area as part of my team (since most of my contacts are out of state) 1) that it only takes raising $50 to participate 2) the date and 3)how much I'd appreciate their support. 4) If the date or locale isn't convenient consider being a "virtual" fundraising-only walker instead.

I'd also write that depending on their response below I will send them the corresponding additional information. Or I could include a link to my donation site which I don't know if would lead people to not respond to the Evite and just donate when really I'd rather them join the team (b/c they are more likely to raise more $ then they will donate) or i it would raise donations. Thoughts?

As you may or may not know about Evite you can change the response from Yes, No or Maybe to what ever you'd like. People usually make them funny.
I was thinking I would have them read
"Yes, I want to walk and find a cure!" ,
"My legs are broken, but I'll make a donation"
"Any ideas for this one? My ideas were too bit_chy and sarcastic." Or maybe I just say that :)

I usually send an email spilling my guts about the previous year as cf related then include a link to my cff donation page. I get a lot of donations but more people that never respond. This would force people to make a visible decision...peer pressure maybe?

Thoughts?

This was my worst year in the history of my cf
This was the first year I participated in a clinical trial (which was very beneficial)
Of course, listing these two things like this makes it sound like the trial may have contributed which it definitely didn't. In fact, the only time I was really healthy was while I was on Vertex 770.

I could have more of a traditional cf update on cff page and keep the Evite to just that...an invitation.
