UV water filters

i saw on the thread about pseudomonus in shower water and got to thinking that maybe a UV filter might be just the trick for things like that, sure enough i got down to the bottom of the page and someone had beaten me to the idea.
Has anyone done this? put a filter on the main coming into thier house? i know that some people will filter water to get impurities out of it coming out of thier tap, but does anyone sterilize the water? the poster said that you can get a UV sterilizer large enough for home use but that they were expensive and the big drawback is that they are not portable.
Something i thought of, may be a stupid idea all together but i'll throw it out there anyway. UV sterilizers are made for use in aquariums and come in several sizes, and could be portable, i don't see any reason they wouldn't be safe for human use, i know that's not what they're designed for but i think it would work.

We have a UV purification system on main water line in our home. We have well water and didn't want to take any chances. We went with the top of the line Hallett.

If someone wants to see if there water has bacteria all they have to do is take a sample in. They don't run a detailed study on it like the clinic does our sputum but just report bacteria "yes" or "no." And just because you have city water doesn't mean you don't have bacteria in your water.

The reason being pretty simple: in order to get PA from your tap water, it has to be in the water supply. If this is the case, then it is in every Coke you order from McDonalds (fountains use tap water if you didn't know this), every Ice Tea you drink with lunch, the water fountain at work, etc.

I firmly believe in being safe, but I think there are some things you just can't avoid and trying to avoid any water with PA it just one of those.
