I called my CF DR and he told me to take 50mg before every Vanco treatment and also slow rate down so I will now do the rate 135 instead of 270. I will now take Vanco for 2 hours instead of one hour.

I just wanted to let you know what we are trying to do to combat this problem. Thank You all for your advice.

My 4 year old is starting IV Vanco next week to fight the MRSA he has just cultured. Does it come in one of those vacuum packed gravity balls?? I hope so? I hope it's not an IV pole kind?

I have been on Vanco for three weeks and I am about to start my fourth week,,, The first week I was on it I got very red and itchy the whole time and now it has slowed down some..

I am on 2 grams which is a ton, over four hours twice a day among other IVs....

Yes it does come in the pressurized balls but they are huge balls of it, looks more like a full size baby bottle.
