very weird question

I know this is going to sound very odd but bear with me please. Recently with time spent alone, much of it spent reflecting on things, from the sub atomic to the macrocosmic, i've come to notice my body more than usual. Just while walking around, I would start to notice what was once just an appendage I called my arm, that only had a purpose of hanging to the side and offering balance and nothing more, could be called upon while walking and enjoying the feelings of stressing the muscles (stretching/flexing), tendons, and nerves. Then while sitting, doing the same with other parts of my body that are generally ignored during such acts, like my legs, face, fingers, facial muscles, ears, ankles, shoulders, and all the other auxiliary connective tissues and muscles that generally sit idle while we go about our day.

I have been doing these various exercises with visual observation (actualy observing in a mirror, or the surface of the part in question), and by doing so, I feel much more appreciative of what just makes me, "me", and I feel more "whole" by doing so. Meaning, if I were sitting on say a park bench without doing such things and being aware of such things in the past (like most people are/do), I would feel "I'm just a guy sitting on a bench", and not be openly aware of all the parts that comprise myself. Over a small period of time of doing these techniques and being generally more aware of my surroundings and more importantly, of myself and the parts that create the whole of myself, I started to feel overall, healthier and better. And actually more calm mentally and emotionally. Almost like a chemicaly derived calming effect, like marijuana, or a big boost of seratonin.

I then started to think about my lungs in the same way. My lungs are also a cog in the wheel so to speak, a very important cog at that, but I obviously can't directly observe my lungs and flex the connective tissues and sinue like I can my digits and joints and so forth. So I started to think about what I had learned about direct visualization in the past. I never got deeply into it, but cancer patients have been using the techniques for a long period of time. Where they essentially deeply meditate and visualize them attacking the tumors with whatever visual aids help them concentrate the strongest.

I was just wonderind if I can feel like this with what I am doing concerning on the outside, and it's good results, why couldn't it be directed more on the inside, with say directed visualization, meditation, and even targeted breathing techniques? I swear just from what I have been doing, I nearly feel high. My brain must be releasing a ton of soothing chemicals, like I just finished having sex.

Anyways, just an idea. And was curious if anyone else had applied something even remotely near to this for the lungs, or if anyone else has stopped to observe their body and appreciate it and do what I have been doing. And if not, give it a try, because it feels great!

Which part? And do you have any available tomatoes nearby to throw?

For the sake of discussion, no it's not Sean Davis. Though i'm not pretending to be anyone other than myself. Too much bashing taking place for name association though.

The only reason I ask is because he was having issues with logging on with his computer lately and sometimes he is posting under anon. The post sounded like him so that's the only reason i asked. No biggie.

Dear Anon
Your post was brilliant. Before you mentioned meditation, I was thinking just that. I felt I was meditating in a way while reading your creative style of expressing yourself. Very cool. I would copy your post and reread it for relaxtion. Keep up the good visualization techniques. I know a ton and practice many myself but do not feel at this moment in expressing. Hats off to you

Please share when you feel like it Risa. It's hard to describe without getting "odd" in some peoples opinions, but to me it's almost like being a baby again and rediscovering your hands/feet and playing with them.

You took the words right out of my mouth!
I was thinking the same thing.

I have to be in the mood to share. When friends who are very ill that call me, I do a home made mediation and put them on a beach with all kinds of relaxing talk.
