It's definitely confusing if you're trying to figure out what your body needs and how much treatment to give it.

I use 25 Hz for as long as it will run (about 15 minutes), with pressure on 9 or 10. And I do this twice in one treatment -- 15 minutes with my albuterol and 15 minutes with my HTS. Altogether I only do 1 treatment per day, unless I'm not feeling well.

I hope this helps!

I was told by Austin RT that he should do 10 for 10 minutes and 12 for 10 min and then 15 for 10 min So thats how we do it. Something about it moves the mucous around and at the end put it higher like the 15 to work it all the way out. Something like that.

My sons machine was pre set to his prescription when it arrived (Incourage by Respirtech } and it has 10 stages at three minutes each. I just push Quick start and we let it run. I give him his Xopanex while he is doing HFCC. Pulmazyme after the vest and let it sit in lungs all night and do the vest in the morning. He does it 2x daily, Here is a picture . He has that irrriteted look on his face because I got up while he was doing his HFCC I have spoiled the baby rotten.

Hi Kate -

I was just at clinic on Friday and they gave me the settings that the University of Minnesota generally gives people to use. You put the pressure setting on 10 and do five minute hz cycles of 8, 9 and 10. I between each five minute cycle unhook a tube to deflate the vest and do a purposeful cough. Then move the pressure setting down to 6 and do five minute hz cycles of 18, 19 and 20. This came from the main RT there. I've been doing these cycles (previously had done different ones because I thought they worked better) for three days now and it does seem to work a bit better than my other regimen. Hope this has helped! Oh and I do 4 treatments a day when ill, two when baseline.
