Anyone hear whether tanning beds is a viable option to raise our vitamin D levels in the winter? Have your doctors ever suggested this?

Thanks,
P

Tanning beds are NOT a viable option in my opinion. Also, dermatologists have found that the use of tanning beds is responsible for many cases of skin cancer. Not to mention they're good places to pick up an infection such as staph (or worse!)

I used to tan a lot in high school, and I noticed that I would cough my head off at night on the days that I tanned. So I stopped. I am pale, but my skin is so soft! <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0">

I think there are sun lamps (they're called something like that) that might be a better option, or take extra Vit D. I wouldn't do the tanning bed thing for that reason.
